   Before you assume that the noises are caused by ghosts you should eliminate every other possible cause. In almost every case where a competent investigation has been done on this sort of thing, a mundane source for such noises can be found. Even if you can’t find a cause, its pretty unlikely that the noises are caused by ghosts. Strange noises are much likelier to be caused by something like mice in the walls or squirrels in the attic.
   You should be a lot more worried that a noise is being caused by an intruder than a ghost. Living people tend to be a lot more dangerous.

   Well if its an older house you hear crazy stuff in them all the time
